It is the end of the festive period almost and we are all feeling the pinch either physically from our shrinking cloths (or so we hope!) or from our shrinking budgets after Christmas shopping and the New Year sales.

It is also a time for reflection. When it comes to food we are all perhaps a little guilty of being wasteful, however unintentional. For that reason I thought it would be worthwhile at this time to look at some snacks and recipies that provide variety in diet, while minimising the impact on your pocket.

Below are a few ideas for everyday snacks and recipies that are quick, easy to prepare and cost-effective. They also give you the opportunity to use up the food that never made it to the Christmas table
